“She is an RD material” says DOST-III Assistant Regional Director Wilfredo F. Sibal, describing Mary Michelle M. Quiambao during her panel evaluation as a national nominee to the “2013 Most Outstanding PSTD Award” held recently at the DOST Regional Office, Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Her exemplary performance best describes her, but what probably makes her a lot more different than others is her assertiveness towards anybody on what is right and her ability to adapt and adjust to people of all walks of life.
During the interviews with the DOST panel, many PSTC-Pampanga beneficiaries cannot help but narrate their experience with Ms. Quiambao and the impact of the DOST assistance has made on their lives. Who will not feel great being a part of the DOST family when people appreciate her commitment and the way she works. That same feeling was also experienced by one the members of the evaluation panel.
Ms. Quiambao has received a number of recognitions, awards and commendations including the rare DOST Outstanding PSTD Award runner up given to her in 2011 and for two years now, she has been the “Most Outstanding PSTD” in Region III.
She receives a lot of appreciations, too, but the closest to her heart was that from ARD Sibal. “Having a supervisor who verbally recognizes you in front of evaluators is more than a pat at the back” she said. “It was not so much of the award, but his words meant so much to me that it lifted me like I’m in heaven. This gave me a boost to face more challenges as we bring DOST programs and services to the people we serve”.
